I have a PS3, And have 2 PS3 dual shock controllers. & I didn't wanna spend 50 bucks a piece for another 2 so I went out and got another 2 adapters to allow ps2 controllers work for the ps3. For Games like : NHL 07 (ps2), Call of Duty 4: (ps3), Call of Duty 2 Modern Warefare 2 (ps3) etc. The controllers work fine for 4 players. But when I try to play 4 with NBA Street (ps2 game) ....they don't register @ the player log screen. It just says insert dual shock controller (in their respective ports). Of course the PS3 dual shocks work but not the ps2 adapter controllers via usb. I should also mention that right on the back of the NBA STREET case..its says 1-4 player....requires multi tap. ANY IDEAS WHY THIS MIGHT BE THAT IT DOESN'T WORK. I've tried 2 different brand of adapters & they achieve the same results. more

Today I put a new laser gaming and after starting my computer. After the Packard Bell splash screen in BIOS I get a message "PS2 mouse not found". For 2 seconds before my PC loads up normally. My previous mouse was a PS2 mouse so I never received that message on screen. But now I have a gaming mouse that is USB dependant. So even a USB-->PS2 adapter splitter doesn't help make the mouse work. So I am forced to use USB only. I have just bought a ps2 to ps3 adapter so that I can use my ps2 guitarhero guitars with Rockband 2 on PS3. Several searches have confirmed that they are compatible. The converter has a usb connector at one end with a small back box which then splits into two black female plugs into which the black dongle plug for the ps2 guitar will fit inside. However..... if I use the strum lever on the guitar, the options go up and down ok, so there must be some connection made but when I actually attempt to play the guitar on a song, it won't register the controller - just the mike/drums which are usb as standard. Has anybody else had this problem and solved it?? more

I have none of these and will not buy ANY of them: PS2 Mod Chip, Game Shark, and other hard ware. I do have the Internet adapter for the back, though. I want to put PS2 games onto my USB drive (8 GB) and use the PS2 USB slot to play PS2 games from the USB Flash drive. I need the simplest and easiest way to do it - even if it involves using torrents. I cannot pay for any thing, if that gives you an idea of what I need. I heard that there is some protection thing that PS2 needs to read to play the game that people bypass by using modchips, but I don't have a modchip. well sorry about my english is not too good so here we go: i`ve got a twin usb adapter i mean (it allows me to play on pc with pouples of ps2 controllers) that´s ok. so i decided to buy the same for my little bother so here comes the problem, is the same type and brand and it doesn´t work on my pc, i mean on some computers it works and someothers not .so i realized it could be a drivers thing but it isn`t cuz i´ve downloaded a couple of them and they don`t work. the message comes out and say there is a proble with your usb divece it could not work properly so im frustrated with it, i´ve done all things it suppost to do formated,download windows update, even change the operating system and it doesn`t work, thanks for reading more

I have all the Guitar Hero/Rockband games but for PS2. I'm looking to buy a PS3 - my main concern is whether or not my PS2 games will work on a PS3. The adapter plug for a PS2 is the same shaped plug used for the controller and for PS3 the plug is a USB. Now I know for Rockband it will/might work since the game uses USB plugs but I need to know if it's a for sure thing as I don't have a PS3 yet to try it and until I know I'm holding off on getting one. The slim came out a couple years ago, and I know the game is older than that, but do i need to buy some type of adapter or will the game work? My slim is silver if that helps any. Hardware/Software Info: HP Pavillion Windows XP Media Center Edition. All applicable Microsoft drivers are up to date. Keyboard type: PS2 **NOTE** Before anyone replies, please note that I DO have many wireless keyboards and USB keyboards, both MAC and PC. So I am not looking for a response telling me to ditch the PS2 keyboard and get a wireless or USB keyboard. PROBLEM: My keyboard in them ol' days WAS once "plug and play." But for some time now, when I plug in my keyboard to the PS2 port, the keyboard lights flash but do not remain on indicating power or recognition by my computer. The keys do not respond. The only time it is recognized and works, is if I restart my PC. I went through the Hardware Manager and the only ports I see are COM ports. The "keyboards" is blank - as if I have NO keyboard plugged in. And of course one of my other dozens of keyboards is typing this question. QUESTION: 1) What is causing my PC to not recognize that something is now plugged into the PS2 port; 2) Is there any way I can enable this port or cause Windows to recognize the port is in use WITHOUT having to restart Windows? NOTE also that this port is not malfunctioning or otherwise experiencing problems. I have a PS2>USB adapter but I still wish to know answers to my 2 questions above. Resolved Question: Problems reinstalling windows xp operating system.?

I have accidently deleted some important files and now windows xp will not load at all. It says some files are missing at the boot. I have not got a internal dvd drive and used a external usb dvd drive to reinstall windows xp from the cd. My computer does not seem to enter the setup and i have tried every button at the boot. I have done this before, and usually at the start it says press any buttons to enter setup, but it does not with this pc. I thought it might be the bios settings.. I have tried EVERY SETTING IN THE BIOS.. still no luck. the usb ports are working fine. I have then decided to get windows xp bootdisk and use that with a external floppy drive (there are six disks).. but the problem is as soon as it enters the setup i can no longer press enter on the keyboard as it stops immediately working when i entering the setup. I have looked and tried everything through the bios. No luck with this. It is a usb keyboard and my computer does not accept ps2, as it does not have this port. I have then decided to buy a Internal DVD for my computer but have a REAL HARD time finding which one fits.. as the connection is different and i have never seen this connection. The internal DVD is meant to connect to the computer with this adapter it looks like, that goes into the pci slot and creates a slim looking connection... My pc is a hp compaq d530 usdt model.. Resolved Question: Guitar Hero World Tour PS2 - Are multi-port and/or controller-to-usb adapters necessary for full band play?

When I opened up the game package, I've noticed that the guitar uses a standard controller port, and both drums and mic use usb. If i get a 2nd guitar (which was asked about from a previous question) chances are that it too would use a standard controller port. This means that if I use all the full band instruments I would have used up both standard ports (both guitars) and both usb ports (drums and mic). Now here's where the problem is: I believe that a standard game controller is necessary to navigate the menus for the mic since the other instruments have their own navigation controls but the mic has none. Now because both standard ports are in use (for the guitars) I have no port to connect the standard controller. So because of this, I wonder if either a standard port multi-tap (guitars and game controller for mic) or a usb hub (used with standard-to-usb adapters if they exist) is necessary in order to connect all instruments for a full band. more
